Wildlife Art • Murals
A fourth generation Floridian, born in Pensacola, Florida in 1961. I inherited my art talent from my father, so it was just natural that I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil. Much of my early drawings were influenced heavily by my love of the outdoors and frequent visits to my grandfathers in Pensacola, where he taught me about fishing, hunting and life along the Panhandle of Florida.
My father was career Navy, so we bounced around the south every couple years, when he retired in 1978, we relocated to his home town of West Palm Beach, FL, where I graduated High School in 1979, served in the US Army 1981-85, attended the Art Institute of Ft Lauderdale, FL 1985-87 where I earned an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and Advertising, then ran a small graphic design shop for a few years in Ft. Lauderdale, producing brochures, catalogs and printing prep services.
In 1993, on a week long Horseback Trail Ride, I met my soon to be wife Jodi, relocated to Orlando, FL, married and raised three children while working for the Orlando Sentinel as a Graphic Artist, with the decline of newspapers I started working as freelance artist, producing murals and hi-end faux finishes, in 2008 I started working in the the major theme parks in Central Florida, on various projects such as: Harry Potter, Despicable Me, Star Wars, Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Frozen and many others. Eventually the desire to create my own art led me to leave the theme parks in 2016. While running a small commercial painting business, I started painting on canvas more in my spare time, building a body of work based around my love of the outdoors.
The majority of my work is wildlife art with a spattering of western and landscapes.
In 2019 I fell in love with Kayak fishing and it now has an influence on some of my current work.
I work primarily in acrylic for its quick drying time, I also have a large body of watercolors as well.
MURALS
Aside from the theme parks I have produced murals for multiple private individuals and business'
such as the first "Historic" mural for the City of Sanford's Fire Dept., B&W Meats in Houston Texas, Alcatraz East Crime Museum in Pigeon Forge Tennessee, Epic Systems in Verona, Wisconsin,
Taco Bell Corp. in Florida, All Seasons Pool, in Sanford, FL, multiple VFW posts and
Gators Dockside Restaurant in Port Canaveral, FL.
"I believe that experience is the best teacher, those memories can be drawn upon for a lifetime".
I try to capture and transfer the excitement I feel during these experiences to the canvas, to share it with you for your endless enjoyment.

I get my ideas and inspiration for my paintings from a lifetime of being involved in the outdoors, drawing on experiences and places I've been
My most recent body of work is inspired by my love of kayak fishing. Consisting of acrylic paintings depicting some of the most sought after sport and game fish all being pursued by fishermen in kayaks. Catching a large fish while sitting mere inches above the water in a small plastic boat is both challenging and exhilarating.
A compilation of Murals in private business and residences as well as public projects.
For a number of years I worked in the
scenic arts industry, painting some of the most popular theme park attractions in central Florida, Wisconsin, Texas and Tennessee.
